FOCAC Beijing Summit Research Delegation Visited Lesotho

On 14-17 March 2018, a Chinese FOCAC research delegation, led by the former Chinese Ambassador to Eritrea and Rwanda H.E. Mr. Shu Zhan and comprising scholars from the Chinese Social Science Academy and Peking University, visited Lesotho. During its stay in Lesotho, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Hon. Lesego Makgothi, held symposiums and meetings on China-Lesotho and China-Africa cooperation with representatives of local scholars, think-tanks, media, government officials and Chinese community, and visited local Chinese enterprises as well.

It marks the first visit to Lesotho by a Chinese scholars delegation in purpose of researching on China-Lesotho and China-Africa cooperation and preparing for the FOCAC Beijing Summit. By meeting and discussing with a wide range of people, the visit enhanced mutual understanding and consensus and achieved meaningful results.
